Agent of Change

Teaching... Volunteering... Organizing... Motivating. This is about people I've coached, projects I've organized, people who've inspired me and the things we can do when we reach outside of ourselves.

Project Coat

In 2003 one of my best friends was offered an accolade in the SCA. She had previously been elevated to the Order of the Pelican, made a member of Royal Archers, and achieved numerous other accolades. She has often inspired me and set a benchmark of generousity, project management, and creativity. When she was invited to join the Order of the Laurel for her historical costuming skill and knowledge, I wanted to spring a gift on her. When my muse struck, however, it was more work than any one or two artists could pull off between July 1 and October 1, so I recruited heavily from her friends and from people who've benefitted from her generousity. From that sprang Project Coat, a yahoo-group that continues to join forces to achieve broad-scope projects that are inspired by wonderful people. But before the other mantles, coats, cloaks and garments, there was one Persian Coat.
